Hamster Care

I own a hamster as my pet for one year already and I noticed recently that there is a lump of suspected tumour on its left stomach.
I asked around, even pet shop owners and they told me that if I bring to the vet, they either give medication which is useless or do an operation on my hamster and the chances of survival would be low. 
I googled and found two sites that I think it is useful for hamster lovers like me.
