Be A Responsible Parent!

In Singapore, the divorce rate of couples is getting higher. Have you ever wonder how would your child feels about the divorce? 

I read in a story of a couple, divorced, and got into a new relationship. Both have no heart to take care of their three years old daughter, Anna * (name changed as I can’t remember the girl’s name in the story) 

Both parents are in loved in their new relationship and Anna was being taken care of by her paternal grandmother who was staying with her younger son – Marcus (20 years old) 

There was one part of the story when I feel like tearing the dad’s face is when the dad brought Anna out for walk with his girlfriend so that he can pretend that he loves child and a few hours later when the girlfriend went home to change for movie at night, the dad cruelly asked his mum to take care of the child and find Anna as a nuisance. 

And you can bet that Anna was crying for his dad when she was cruelly “dump” to her grandma. 

Grandma was sobbing to her neighbour that the dad did not even pay for Anna’s daily needs, not even the medical fees when Anna fell sick.

The dad was earning $4000+ / month and could not afford to pay for Anna’s daily needs? I find it no surprise as Anna’s dad was spending money on beer and on his girlfriend BUT not to his mother or Anna! 

After reading the story, I felt so lucky that at least my parents did not divorce when I was very little.
